Morning Forecast – Friday, Nov. 1st
SUMMARY: Meteorologist Chase Ward reports a gloomy start to the day with extensive cloud cover and surface moisture. Visibility remains good due to a light northeasterly breeze, while some light showers are noted, primarily south of the I-20 corridor. Temperatures are in the mid-60s, with no significant fog expected. Today‘s highs could reach the low 70s. As the weekend approaches, moisture levels may rise, bringing the chance of scattered showers overnight into Saturday morning. Expect temperatures to warm into the 80s on Saturday, with another front expected next week, potentially increasing rain and thunderstorms.
It’s starting off cloudy this morning with a few light patchy showers further south of I-20. Clouds will linger throughout the day. More scattered showers are possible overnight as a front stall out across the area and winds return southerly tomorrow. A slightly unsettled pattern will continue into next week. This rain will no doubt help with the drought conditions. Temperatures will have a chance to return to more seasonal late next week.

Thursday 10PM Tropical Update: Watching two areas of development
SUMMARY: Despite it typically being the end of the tropical season, models are indicating potential development in two areas. However, even if these systems move into the Gulf, significant impacts are unlikely. November conditions in the Gulf of Mexico differ greatly from August and September, with cooler water temperatures, dry air, and strong wind shear present. Therefore, there is currently not much concern regarding the formation of tropical systems in this region.
Chief meteorologist Chris Franklin says we’re watching two areas for possible development in the tropics.
