Morning electrical fire damages Hub City restaurant
SUMMARY: A utility fire at Compadre’s Mexican Grill in Hattiesburg has led to serious damage and the need for extensive electrical repairs. The fire started around 11:30 AM when a delivery truck tore down power lines, causing an electrical fire in the restaurant’s kitchen. Several nearby homes also experienced electrical damage. Assistant Fire Chief Chris Carr confirmed that the restaurant is not a total loss but will require several weeks of repairs before reopening. Mississippi Power has isolated the power and ensured safety. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
