SUMMARY: Meteorologist Grinner from the News 5 First Alert Storm Team reports warm and beautiful weather for the weekend, with a slight increase in humidity. Coastal showers and some brief storms were observed. The next week is expected to remain quiet in the tropics, with no significant tropical activity. Current temperatures are in the mid-90s, feeling hotter. Overnight, low temperatures will be in the upper 60s to low 70s. Overall, typical summertime patterns with isolated rain chances and increased heat are expected throughout the week.
It has been another seasonably hot day on the Gulf Coast, and we’ve had just a few showers along the coast. Most will stay quiet this evening with partly cloudy skies, but skies will be mostly clear overnight with lows sitting in the low- to mid-70’s. Monday will be a bit hotter with highs pushing into the mid-90’s for some, and isolated showers and a brief storm will be possible again mainly along the coast. Throughout the week, highs will only sit in the low- to mid-90’s, but more humidity will keep things feeling a bit hotter this week. Isolated showers and storms will be possible each day with better rain chances returning by the weekend. Rip current risk will be low over the next few days. The tropics remain quiet!
