For Pisit, coming from Thailand to the United States was a long journey. Eventually, he settled on the Gulf Coast, in the city of Gautier which he now calls home. With him came his religion, common in his native country, but quite exotic in Mississippi. Along with his fellow monks and local volunteers, he transformed his home, quite standard in this part of the country, into a Buddhist temple.
