Mobile County teen granted bond for alleged role in deadly crash
SUMMARY: A tragic crash in Mobile County claimed the life of 19-year-old University of South Alabama student Nolan McDavid. A 17-year-old defendant, charged with manslaughter, allegedly caused the head-on collision while speeding over 100 mph, exceeding the 55 mph speed limit. Authorities believe alcohol may have been a contributing factor. The defendant was granted a $50,000 bond and is currently under house arrest, continuing his education virtually. Chief Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Susman emphasized the importance of accountability on the roads, while the defense attorney refuted any claims that the defendant’s relationship with a law enforcement officer father affected the investigation.
