Mississippi’s new Episcopal bishop is first woman and first Black person in that role
SUMMARY: The Rev. Dorothy Sanders Wells is being formally installed as the new bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi, making her the first woman and Black person to hold this position. Elected in February, she has led the diocese since May and is being ordained by the Most Rev. Michael Curry.
