SUMMARY: A Mississippi teenager, Jaden Bryant Maples, was arrested after allegedly threatening customers and employees inside a Waffle House on May 22, 2024. According to Jackson County Sheriff John Ledbetter, Maples called the restaurant on Highway 63 with threats, then rammed a man’s vehicle on the highway, causing it to wreck. The victim escaped on foot while Maples shot at him multiple times. Authorities arrested Maples on May 30 after finding several firearms and ammunition in his home. He was charged with attempted murder and making terrorist threats and was denied bond during his court appearance on May 31.
