Mississippi Supreme Court won’t remove Favre from lawsuit over misspent welfare money
SUMMARY: The Mississippi Supreme Court has denied an appeal from NFL Hall of Famer Brett Favre, stating that he will remain a defendant in a civil lawsuit regarding misspent welfare money. The lawsuit aims to recover millions of dollars that were meant to help low-income residents but were instead wasted on projects supported by wealthy or well-connected individuals. Favre’s attorneys argued that the allegations against him were meritless and politically motivated, but the court ruled against him. No criminal charges have been brought against Favre, but others involved in the misspending have pleaded guilty.
