Operation ‘Rotten Egg’ results in 19 facing felony drug charges

Municipal primary runoffs: What to know before heading to the polls

Vision turns into reality as Camp Kamassa gears up for first wave of guests with special needs

SUMMARY: Camp Kamassa, located in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, was created to offer a recreational haven for children with special needs. Founded by Mary Kitchens in 2008, the camp opened on April 5, 2025, after years of planning and collaboration with the military. Spread across 326 acres, the camp features fully accessible facilities, including spacious cabins and handicap-friendly bathrooms. Designed to accommodate a range of disabilities, it even includes a medical infirmary for campers with chronic illnesses, providing treatments like dialysis and chemotherapy. Camp Kamassa will host its first group of campers in mid-May.
