The U.S. is facing a triple-demic with COVID-19, flu, and RSV, with COVID and flu being the most prevalent in Mississippi. There has been a 13% increase in flu cases in the last week, with Mississippi at very high risk for flu infections. Nationwide, less than half of children have received the flu vaccine, and rates for the new COVID-19 vaccine are even lower. The J-N-1 variant of COVID-19 is causing concern, but the latest Covid boosters have shown effectiveness against it. Doctors recommend vaccination for RSV for infants and those over 60. It is safe to get the flu and COVID-19 vaccine on the same day.

Respiratory illnesses are spreading rapidly this winter and in Mississippi.
