Mississippi recognizes Farmers' Market Week
SUMMARY: Mississippi is celebrating Farmers Market Week until July 13th to recognize certified farmers markets and their community contributions. The Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce organized the event to raise awareness. There are 32 certified farmers markets in 25 counties, including several local to the area. Commissioner Andy Gibson highlights that certification assures people they can purchase fresh, locally-grown produce, meats, eggs, and more from these markets.

Walmart carjacking suspect arrested in Corinth
SUMMARY: A 23-year-old man, Telin Loveless, is accused of carjacking at gunpoint outside a Walmart in Corinth. On Sunday, he allegedly threatened a victim in their vehicle, demanding they exit before driving away. The car was later found wrecked on Highway 365 in Tishomingo County. Mississippi Highway Patrol troopers located Loveless near the crash site. He is currently awaiting a bond hearing.
