SUMMARY: Don Edd Woods, a 51-year-old man, has pleaded guilty to the statutory rape of a 14-year-old girl in Rankin County, with the abuse occurring over more than a year. District Attorney Bubba Bramlett announced Woods’ sentencing, where he will serve 15 years without parole, followed by five years of supervised release, and must register as a sex offender for life. Broadway in Jackson cancels upcoming events due to uncertainty of Thalia Mara Hall reopening
SUMMARY: Broadway in Jackson is canceling most of its 2024-25 schedule due to ongoing repairs at Thalia Mara Hall, which has been closed since August due to mold and safety issues linked to faulty HVAC and roof leaks.
