Mississippi National Guard's top brass officially sworn in Friday at State Capitol
SUMMARY: Today, the National Guard gathered at the Mississippi State Capitol to welcome Major General Bobby Gin as the new Adjutant General. Gin, a former Camp Shelby Commander, takes over from Major General Jansen D. Bo, who is retiring after 44 years of service. In his acceptance, Gin emphasized building upon the past to lead the over 12,000 National Guard members. Governor Tate Reeves, who appointed Gin in July, praised his exemplary service and leadership qualities. Gin began his military career as an enlisted soldier in 1990 and became a commissioned officer in 1993, officially assuming command on August 1st.

Man shot, killed over pair of tennis shoes in Jackson
