Mississippi National Guard deploys for Hurricane Helene relief efforts

SUMMARY: One after Hurricane Helen made landfall, hundreds of thousands in Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas remain without power. To assist in the emergency response, 31 soldiers and Airmen from the Mississippi National Guard have been deployed to South Carolina and Florida. Their tasks include transporting search and rescue teams and clearing debris. The National Guard Aviation Response Team has flown around 20 hours in the Tampa area of Florida, successfully completing their mission and returning home safely.
