Mississippi man captured after 13 years on the run

SUMMARY: After more than 13 years on the run, Kelvin “Buck” Perry, a Mississippi man convicted of drug charges, has been arrested and returned to the Carroll Montgomery Regional Correctional Facility. Perry failed to show up for court in 2010 and was convicted in absentia, receiving a 60-year sentence. Carroll County Sheriff Clint Walker worked with the U.S. Marshal’s Service to locate Perry, resulting in his arrest in St. Louis in 2024. Perry was extradited back to Mississippi. Walker expressed gratitude for the cooperation between agencies and the community in resolving the long-standing case peacefully.
