Principal Talina Knight emphasized the importance of having a mascot for school spirit and branding. The initiative, proposed by teacher Denise Carter, taught students about the election process through real-world applications, including leadership and campaigning. Students created mascots, led by the dolphin, golden retriever, and panther, and campaigned using posters and costumes. On November 4, students registered to vote, and the election was conducted using a system reflecting real-world electoral processes. The golden retriever, named Champ, was ultimately elected as the school’s mascot.
