Mississippi-based Dirt Cheap closing all stores after parent company files bankruptcy
SUMMARY: Dirt Cheap, a discount retailer based in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, will close all 68 locations following its parent company, Channel Control Merchants, filing for bankruptcy. The company attributed its financial struggles to competition from B-Stock Solutions, which secured better deals from Target. Dirt Cheap owes Target nearly $16 million and approximately $5.5 million to Amazon. The retailer also exported excess inventory to various countries.
