Mississippi Ag Museum hosts annual Pumpkin Adventure

SUMMARY: The Mississippi Agriculture Pumpkin Adventure is an annual event that offers activities such as a puppet show teaching agriculture facts, hayrides, milk and cookies snacks, and pumpkin carving and painting. Many parents enjoy bringing their children to create lasting memories. Tina Dungan, who visited the Agriculture Museum as a child, now brings her own children to experience the same traditions. She appreciates the opportunity to make these memories and is grateful that the event is still available for future generations.

A woman reported her ex-boyfriend was banging on her door before forcing his way in. A second man in the home fired a gun, striking the intruder. The man was rushed to a local hospital but later died. Names are withheld pending family notification, and no arrests have been made.

The new senior class, including quarterback Jeb Brown, is stepping up to fill leadership roles. Brown is committed to holding teammates accountable and pushing the young, new faces to improve. Last season, TCPS finished 8-4, exiting in the second playoff round. This season, the team aims to build on last year's success, starting against East Union Urchins on August 30th. Tupelo Christian Preparatory School (TCPS) is replacing a lot of players from last year's team.

SUMMARY: Today was a fun day for fishing enthusiasts as the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks declared it a free fishing day, allowing fishing without a license in public waters. Many fishermen took advantage of this, with Ponto Lake being a popular spot. One attendee mentioned having no luck last week but hoped to catch more fish today. Tomorrow, however, a fishing license will be required, obtainable through the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks.
