Missing Man Table Set for One For All to Remember
SUMMARY: Memorial Day, observed on the last Monday of May in the U.S., honors military personnel who died in service. The day traditionally marks the unofficial start of summer with social gatherings, food, and fireworks. A more solemn tradition, the Missing Man Table, established in 1993, honors fallen, missing, or imprisoned service members. Set up in military and non-military locations like libraries and restaurants, each item on the table has symbolic meaning reflecting the absence and honor of these individuals, including a round table, white tablecloth, black napkin, single rose, inverted glass, lit candle, and an empty chair.

Boater Safety is a Must!
SUMMARY: Spring is here in Mississippi, prompting many to venture out on the state’s waterways. Before heading out, it’s crucial to review boater safety skills. Those born after June 30, 1980, must complete a state-accredited boater safety course, which covers vital topics like water safety and navigation rules. The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) offers the course online or in person, with various locations available year-round. Successful completion may also help reduce insurance premiums. For more information, contact MDWFP or check their website. Enjoy the beautiful weather, but prioritize safety on the water!
