SUMMARY: In Hudson, storm cleanup took an unusual turn as a community helped locate a missing boat that had drifted away post-Hurricane Idalia. Heather Ivers believed her boat, the “Main Escape,” was lost in the Gulf but found it nearly a mile away in Mark Weber’s driveway. After posting on Facebook, she coordinated a crane service to safely retrieve the boat, which was in good condition, despite damage to Weber’s motorcycle and guest cottage. As the Vista del Mar community continues to face cleanup challenges, Heather also needs to finish gutting her house before returning to Maine.

The missing boat was found after woman posted on the neighborhood Facebook page to be on the lookout for the missing vessel.

The audit identified issues with the storage of confidential victim records and inadequate document scanning equipment. The commission, which oversees post-prison supervisory release programs, did not consistently notify victims about offender releases. Several parole cases lacked proper documentation, and some victim notification letters were incomplete. Auditors recommended updating procedures to ensure compliance with constitutional requirements and improve the commission’s documentation and supervisory review processes.
