Misinformation is 'really hurting' those in west North Carolina, Cooper says
SUMMARY: Governor Roy Cooper provided an update on North Carolina’s recovery from Hurricane Helen, revealing that FEMA is housing 19,900 people in hotels, while 92 remain unaccounted for. Following recent threats to FEMA workers, FEMA’s canvasing operations resumed, bolstered by coordination with law enforcement. Power outages decreased from 1 million to 13,000, and closed roads reduced from 1,200 to 580. FEMA has approved aid for 77,000 individuals, distributing over $99 million. Governor Cooper emphasized the importance of combating misinformation, urging community support for recovery efforts and inviting residents to check local resources for open roads and services.
Over the weekend, officials said FEMA paused briefly some operations in the state because of threats made against its workers.

This lawsuit follows a CNN article referencing past comments allegedly made by Robinson on a porn forum from 2008 to 2012. Robinson intends to continue his campaign against Attorney General Josh Stein, who has gained polling ground.
