SUMMARY: Many people experience anxiety and depression but struggle to label or describe their feelings. Therapy can help by providing assessments to pinpoint the issue and guide the individual towards a solution. Finding the right therapist is crucial, and meeting with multiple therapists is recommended to find someone who understands and meets the individual’s requirements. However, finding a therapist who looks like you and understands your culture can be challenging. Access to mental health resources and education, especially in communities of color, is lacking and needs to be improved. The pandemic has made virtual therapy more popular and accessible.
