SUMMARY: COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – Rain chances and humidity increase this weekend with temperatures in the 80s. Thursday will see mid to low 80s with partly cloudy skies and possible showers. Humidity remains tolerable, making outdoor activities comfortable, with lows dropping into the lower 60s. Friday temperatures peak in the mid to upper 80s with increased rain chances, especially from 8 PM to midnight. The weekend sees mid-80s temperatures with rising humidity and rain chances—60% on Saturday and 40% on Sunday with mostly cloudy conditions. Updates released in Noxubee County shooting case
SUMMARY: Noxubee County Coroner R.L. Calhoun identified Breanna Alexus Franklin of Macon as the victim of an early morning shooting on Pearl Street. The incident occurred after 2 a.m. when a vehicle fired a shot through the passenger side window of her car, resulting in her death at the scene. Ciara Sharda Latham is charged with aggravated domestic violence and murder. The Macon Police Department, assisted by Columbus PD and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, is conducting the ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Macon PD or Crimestoppers.

Oktibbeha county gets five new fire trucks for the county

Homeless Coalition finds ways to help with heat safety
