Meteorologist Trey Tonnessen: “Gale Warning Continues” 10PM Forecast

Published

SUMMARY: The Weather Authority reports spotty rainfall in Southern Mississippi, with the Scarlet Pearl area now dry after the rain receded. Cloud cover keeps temperatures steady overnight, acting as an insulating blanket. Winds from the northeast are expected to relax after gusts of up to 35 mph. Pensacola and Florida expect less wind as the low pressure system moves south. Temperatures won’t drop much tonight, staying in the upper 50s with a 30% chance of rain. Showers are lighter on the Eastern side. The tropical outlook indicates a system moving towards the Atlantic, likely to be disrupted by high pressure. Less rain is expected over the next five days, with widespread showers not forecasted until a frontal system arrives next week.

Wednesday November 15th, 2023: Mostly cloudy skies will continue Thursday thanks to a persistent corridor of easterly lower-tropospheric moisture advection that isn`t backing down much,
if any. Strong winds will be a concern Thursday as well, especially with the
potential for big gusts over coastal areas. The National Weather Service has
continued the GALE WARNING covering the Mississippi Gulf Coast and 60 nautical
miles out in the Gulf. The likelihood is raised that there could be large swells
and a dangerous chop.
