Meteorologist Trey Tonnessen: “Dry Frontal Passage” 10PM Forecast

Published

SUMMARY: After 10 PM, the Gulf Coast is calm with lost rainfall and lingering clouds. Conditions are improving, and sunshine is expected later tomorrow, stretching into the weekend. Camera footage shows light traffic over the bridge. Southeastern region temperatures are mild, getting cooler to the north and west due to an approaching cold front. The Gulf Coast currently enjoys mid-60s temperatures, with only a slight temperature drop expected overnight. Winds are lighter than anticipated from the northeast. Wind gusts could exceed 30 mph next week, possibly indicating a stronger frontal system approaching by Monday or Tuesday. Clouds currently insulate the coast, preventing significant temperature drops. Over the next days, attention turns to the frontal system northwest, likely bringing rainfall by Tuesday and a sunnier weekend before possible storms on Monday.

Thursday November 16th, 2023: The trough digging over the Great Lakes will
start impending on the area and bring a cold front along with it.
Out ahead of the front, compressional warming will allow temps to
be even warmer than today (about 5 degrees warmer) while keeping
rain chances minimal. Can`t rule out some very spotty showers with
the cold frontal passage tomorrow night and into Saturday, but
with us being so far removed from the main forcing of the trough,
the cold frontal passage will be mostly dry.
