Meridian police officer killed in shooting

SUMMARY: Investigators with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (M-B-I) are searching for 31-year-old Dante Marquez Bender, who is suspected of shooting and killing two people, including a Meridian police officer, on 51st Avenue in Meridian. The authorities found a woman and the officer dead at the scene. Bender is considered armed and dangerous and is believed to be driving a 2004 black Nissan Armada. If anyone has any information regarding this case, they are urged to contact M-B-I.
