SUMMARY: The STEAM break involving arts at the museum ends tomorrow. The Meridian Lauderdale County Public Library held a month-long sewing class for members of the community to learn how to sew. The event had a great turnout with eight sewing machines borrowed from the Mississippi Library Commission. The majority of the six classes were filled up, with around 80 people participating and three volunteers plus two students helping out. Participants, including Ms. Jill Fountain, Ms. Cecilia Williamson, and Ms. Judy McQueen, greatly contributed to the success of the event according to Elizabeth.
This is the first time that the public library held an event like this as it was held for two weeks in March.
