Meridian Eagles prepare for opening weekend

SUMMARY: The field and nailed all three of her three-point shots, securing a good win for the Lady Dawgs. It’s officially opening week for many junior colleges, including M-C-C right here in Meridian. The baseball team got some hitting and throwing done indoors to help prepare for their first series of the season beginning on Friday. A couple of the local players, both Lamar High School graduates, explained how the preparation has been going so far. Despite not having as much practice as they wanted, the team is gritty and not going to quit. Coach Dillon Sudduth is proud of the program’s legacy.



The team’s season begins on Friday, February 2nd in Panama City Beach, FL. They’ll face Wallace Community College-Dothan on Friday

Tupelo waiting on Target to make decision on new store

Volunteers requested for local “Grow-a-Row” program to combat hunger

SUMMARY: A local nonprofit, Petal Healing Garden, is collaborating with the Forest County Agricultural Extension Office on the Grow a Row program to combat food insecurity. Volunteers can participate after completing a food safety course led by Jesse Tisdale. The program not only helps with food donations but also offers a chance for the community to reconnect with gardening, filling a gap left by the loss of agricultural education in local schools.
