Meggan Monday: Hemmed in Prayer Ministry
SUMMARY: A group of women at First Baptist Church in Pascagoula gathers monthly to iron, cut fabric, and sew dresses, shorts, shirts, and bags for children in third world countries. This mission, called “Hemmed in Prayer,” has created over 42,000 garments since its inception in 2008. They produce reversible dresses, boys' pants, and tote bags for children who often get clothes from garbage dumps. These items are shipped to various countries including Nicaragua, Honduras, and India. The operation is entirely donation-based, with materials like fabric and sheets sourced from community contributions. For more information or to donate, visit First Baptist Church of Pascagoula's website.
