MDWFP stocks Saltillo lake with rainbow trout

SUMMARY: The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks has stocked over 700 rainbow trout at Lake Lamar Bruce near Saltillo, providing a unique opportunity for fishermen to catch this non-native species. Rainbow trout are cold water fish that are active in the winter months and are easily identified by their rainbow sheen. Lake Lamar Bruce is the only public water body in the state to offer fishing for rainbow trout, with a limit of three trout per day. A valid fishing license and state Lake daily or annual fishing permit are required to fish in the pond, and fishermen have found success using inline spinners, small grubs, and corn kernels to catch these beautiful fish.

Tupelo waiting on Target to make decision on new store
