MDEQ geologists find lost Rolling Fork Mounds marker
SUMMARY: Geologists with the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) recently found a lost Mississippi Mound Trail marker sign for the Rolling Fork Mounds. The marker was found in a creek and was successfully recovered by the MDEQ team. The sign, although dirty, was undamaged. The MDEQ returned the marker to the Mississippi Department of Archives & History (MDAH). The discovery and return of the marker saved the state from having to purchase a replacement. MDEQ officials thanked their Office of Geology for their efforts in recovering the marker.

Man arrested after fatal shooting in South Jackson
