McConnell freezes for 2nd time while taking questions

SUMMARY: During a press conference in Kentucky, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell froze up at the podium for about 30 seconds when asked about running for reelection in 2026. An aide had to remind him of the question and after the pause, McConnell asked reporters to speak up. Later, when asked about supporting former President Trump as the GOP nominee despite his legal troubles, McConnell declined to comment and walked away from the podium. McConnell’s office did not provide any comment on the incident. This is not the first time McConnell has paused in recent weeks while speaking to reporters.
