SUMMARY: The Austin mayoral race is rife with controversy as candidate Robert Tai faces significant backlash following two misdemeanor harassment arrests and the use of racial slurs. The turmoil escalated during a heated confrontation with city officials concerning election procedures, particularly regarding another candidate’s registration status. Tai, who claims his aggressive emailing of officials is misunderstood, argues that his intentions are to foster change, including preserving local Black history. However, his actions have alienated potential supporters. Alongside him, other candidates like Christopher Harvey and Patricia Campbell are vying for the mayoral position, adding to the competitive landscape.

The talk of the town in Manor seems to be this year’s mayoral race. One candidate was arrested for “misdemeanor harassment.” FOX 7 Austin’s Katie Pratt has the details.
