Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center reopens after being closed for repairs
SUMMARY: The Mary T Maher Aquatics Facility in Louisville has undergone significant improvements aimed at enhancing safety and water quality. Under the direction of Keith Smith, the parks and recreation administrator, upgrades include new piping from the main drain to the surge tank, boiler replacement, and the addition of a UV light system for warm pools. Over 600,000 gallons of pool water are recycled every six hours, prioritizing the safety of swimmers. While many upgrades are not visible, improvements such as a new gym floor and updated bathroom fixtures in the locker rooms can be seen by visitors.

Section of Watterson Expressway shut down Sunday, Sept. 15
SUMMARY: On Sunday morning, traffic alerts indicate that water service will be shut down until 5:00 PM in both directions on the Watterson Expressway from 64 to 71 due to emergency electrical work. All lanes are closed, and live footage shows crews at work, blocking traffic. The area near the VA Hospital is under construction, with very few vehicles observed.
