SUMMARY: The Mary T Maher Aquatics Facility in Louisville has undergone significant improvements aimed at enhancing safety and quality. Under the direction of Keith Smith, the parks and recreation administrator, upgrades include new piping from the main drain to the surge tank, boiler replacement, and the addition of a UV light system for warm pools. Over 600,000 of pool water are recycled every six hours, prioritizing the safety of swimmers. While many upgrades are not visible, improvements such as a new gym floor and updated bathroom fixtures in the locker rooms can be seen by visitors.

Section of Watterson Expressway shut down Sunday, Sept. 15
