Manhunt ends after sex offender caught in Jones County
SUMMARY: A multi-agency manhunt in Jones County concluded with the capture of escaped fugitive Danny Dason Pettit, 42, on Tuesday morning. Pettit had fled from law enforcement in Wayne County after wrecking a car and eluding capture while still wearing a handcuff. He was apprehended in a wooded area after being spotted by a Jones County Sheriff’s Department lieutenant. Sheriff Joe Berlin praised the coordinated efforts of law enforcement and thanked local residents for their vigilance during the search. Pettit has been transported to Wayne County Jail and is expected to face additional charges.

SUMMARY: The 28th annual Double Decker Arts Festival in Oxford will be held on April 25-26, featuring Mississippi cuisine, live music, and art.
