Man sentenced for kidnapping after escaping from MDOC
SUMMARY: Inmate Shunekndrick Huffman, who escaped from a Mississippi correctional facility in August 2022, has been sentenced to 60 years in custody. Huffman pled guilty to two counts of kidnapping after breaking into a nearby home, holding the homeowner and two daughters at gunpoint, and later stealing one of their cars. He was found hiding inside a trash can near the Mississippi State Hospital campus and was sentenced to serve 40 years in state prison, with 20 years suspended, for each count of kidnapping. After his release, Huffman will be placed on five years of supervised probation.

Monroe county sheriff’s department investigating church fire

Bond set for three accused of assaulting woman in Vicksburg
