Saltillo native and district attorney to fill vacancy on Mississippi Court of Appeals

15-year-old Carly Gregg convicted of murder, sentenced to life in prison
SUMMARY: Carly Gregg, a 15-year-old, was found guilty of murdering her mother, Ashley Smiley, attempting to murder her stepfather, Heath Smiley, and tampering with evidence after a two-hour deliberation. The jury sentenced her to life imprisonment without parole for the murder and attempted murder charges, along with an additional ten years for tampering.
