Man confesses to 73-year-old’s murder, shooting ATM serviceman

SUMMARY: A suspect, Robert Jackson, has been arrested and charged with murder, aggravated assault, and armed robbery in connection to the shooting death of a 73-year-old man and a separate shooting on Medgar Evers Boulevard in Jackson, Mississippi. The suspect shot a person servicing an ATM machine and fled the scene in a maroon/red Honda Accord. The family of the 73-year-old man found his body after he did not show up for a meeting. The suspect was spotted by Mississippi Highway Patrol and confessed to both crimes. There is also a person of interest, Christopher Mize, in the case who is currently missing.

Former interim Hinds County Sheriff Marshand Crisler convicted in bribery case

Man wanted on multiple charges in other states arrested in Mississippi

SUMMARY: Byram police arrested James Beasley after a chase on Interstate 55 North on November 7. Beasley was wanted in multiple states for robbery, carjacking, and grand larceny. Officers initiated the pursuit when they learned he was driving a stolen vehicle linked to a carjacking in the Capitol Complex Improvement District of Jackson.
