Man arrested after string of burglaries in Lowndes County

SUMMARY: Brent Spencer was in connection with a of burglaries in Louns County, facing multiple charges, three counts of business burglary and probation violation. After allegedly stealing cash from businesses in Calonia and Stain on July 6th and 7th, Spencer eluded capture for months. Detectives identified him from security footage. When deputies attempted to arrest him at his home, he fled but was ultimately apprehended on October 10th in Columbus. Spencer, currently on federal probation for firearm possession, is held at the Louns County Detention Center with a bond set at $330,000.

The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office arrested Brent Spencer after a string of burglaries.

The Union Yellow Jackets off against the Ingamar Falcons in a close and intense match, ultimately falling to the Falcons, also 3-1. Additionally, Nooba Central’s season ended with a loss to the Gators, 3-0. However, the Lake Hornets triumphed over St. Andrew’s Episcopal, securing a spot in the State Championship with a 3-1 victory. Congratulations to the Hornets, who will compete on Thursday at noon!

Lauderdale County 2024 Property Taxes increasing by 20%

Tax assessments are required every four years, which necessitated this adjustment.
