Man accused of killing Jimmy ‘Jay’ Lee wants trial location moved
SUMMARY: Timothy Herrington, Jr., accused of killing Ole Miss student Jimmy “Jay” Lee in July 2022, is requesting his trial be moved out of Lafayette County due to extensive publicity, making it difficult to find an unbiased jury. Lee's body has never been found, but evidence includes cellphone records showing conversations between them, Herrington's suspicious online searches, and surveillance footage of Herrington fleeing the site where Lee's car was discovered. Investigators also observed Herrington later acquiring a shovel and wheelbarrow. His attorney, Kevin Horan, argues that these factors necessitate moving the trial.

SUMMARY: The Fourth of July weekend is one of the busiest times for law enforcement in Lowndes County, Mississippi, due to the confusion between fireworks and gunshots.
