Despite multiple witnesses naming him, Miller was initially released after questioning related to another charge. In July 2023, while in custody for assault, police seized his phone, finding photos of him in clothing similar to that worn during the murder. Miller’s arrest followed ongoing tips and investigation, and he now faces capital murder charges with a $2.5 million bond.
In July 2023, Demarcus Miller was arrested for an unrelated charge of assault of a family member. While in custody, Dallas detectives questioned him about the store clerk’s murder. He denied any involvement and was released.

How can Houston residents make more money from the money they’ve got?
SUMMARY: This morning’s discussion focused on maximizing earnings from existing money by transferring funds from traditional bank savings accounts—often offering minimal interest—to high-yield online savings accounts. Debbie and George, U.S. Army veterans, learned from their son about the potential to earn significantly more with online banks like Synchrony, which offers around 4.5% interest compared to traditional banks’ negligible rates. Financial expert Ted Rossman highlighted that top online savings accounts currently offer rates up to 5%. For example, a $110,000 deposit could yield $500 in a year at 5%, versus just $1 with 0.01% from traditional banks.
KPRC 2’s Bill Spencer is looking into why you might consider moving your money to a bank that will give you back money from interest.
