Their “Making a Mark” initiative allows young patients to create art and writing during treatment, showcased in an exhibit at Helix Park, Texas Medical Center, until November 12. Maddie, a 10-year-old artist, shared how creating art helps her cope with her own treatment and also engages her siblings. The foundation promotes family bonding through art and provides supplies for home projects. SUMMARY: President Trump has announced a 25% tariff on foreign-made cars, effective in less than a week, aiming to spur economic growth. Consumers may soon face higher prices as new tariffs impact assembly lines and repair shops. Some vendors are preemptively raising prices, which is causing concern among consumers. While some car manufacturers with U.S. factories support the move, others without local production will face tariffs. The goal is to bring manufacturing back to the U.S. The United Auto Workers Union backs this initiative, anticipating it will create more domestic jobs. Economists suggest consumers buy now and maintain existing vehicles.

SUMMARY: A significant water main break occurred in north Houston near Washington Avenue and Yale Street, shutting down the street in both directions. City crews are working to repair the rupture, reportedly caused by a contractor for a telecommunications company hitting the water line. Surrounding businesses and homes experienced flooding, and it remains unclear how long the flooding has persisted. While traffic in the area is heavily impacted, drivers are advised to use alternate routes. Houston is facing critical water line issues, with the city losing billions of gallons annually due to aging infrastructure and minimal maintenance over the past decade.
