SUMMARY: Friday Night Lights kicked off early this year with M-A-I-S Week Zero. Jackson Academy played their first game of the season at home against Bayou Academy. Jackson Academy’s defense had a strong start with Maddox Greer making a strip sack and Carter Mathison connected with Kiandre Terry for a fantastic catch and a touchdown. Jackson Academy increased their lead in the game and AJ Parker made a goal line stand in the second half. Jackson Academy won their season opener 27-8. Hartfield Academy also played on Friday night, scoring the first touchdown and leading 9-0 at halftime. They continued their strong performance in the second half and won the game.

Jackson Academy and Hartfield Academy both took the field for week zero of MAIS football action. Both programs picked up wins to start their 2023 seasons.
