Madison County Probate Judge Candidates | October 29, 2024 | News 19 at 4 p.m.
SUMMARY: Madison County voters will soon elect a new probate judge, with Republican Frank Barger and Libertarian Jeffrey Johnson on the ballot. Barger, the incumbent, has served one term since 2011, focusing on mental health programs and election security. He aims to enhance adoption processes and support older adults needing guardianship if re-elected. Johnson, with a software development background, advocates for increased election transparency and proposes a hand-counting system for votes. He also wants to improve wait times at the probate office and minimize security regulations. Both candidates will appear on Tuesday’s ballot, allowing voters to choose the next judge.
In a week, Madison County voters will have the opportunity to elect local officials, like probate judge.
