Maben will soon allow alcohol sales
SUMMARY: Mabin, a small town near Starkville, is set to allow alcohol sales after its Board of Aldermen approved a new ordinance for businesses to sell beer and wine. The decision follows the town’s recent designation as an official resort, which enables eligible small towns to offer alcohol sales. Local residents overwhelmingly support the measure, believing it will enhance tax revenue, increase tourism, and provide convenience, eliminating the need to travel to nearby towns for purchases. Some businesses plan renovations to accommodate the new sales, with hopes to launch by Labor Day after finalizing permitting and advertising guidelines.

A small town in Oktibbeha County will soon allow businesses to sell beer and wine.
