Lumumba remains mum on FBI raids in Jackson: ‘I have no information’

SUMMARY: Agents from the FBI raided the offices and businesses of District Attorney Jody Owens, Cigar Company LLC and Downtown Daiquiri & Pizza. They also searched Owens' home. FBI spokesperson Marshay Lawson confirmed the execution of federal search warrants but provided no details as the affidavit is sealed. Hall was also by the FBI. Mississippi teen pleads guilty to slaying mentor in Madison

SUMMARY: A 19-year-old Mississippian, Dawton Gage Whatley of Walls, has pled guilty to second-degree murder. He admitted to fatally shooting Lemetrius Hollins, whom he previously lived with and who had served as his guardian and mentor. The incident occurred in February, with Hollins' body discovered by during a welfare check. Whatley, already in custody in Washington County for unrelated charges, confessed to the . He was subsequently transported to Madison County and charged with murder. Whatley was indicted on June 7, pled guilty on June 24, and is for sentencing on July 16.
