Lumberton man possibly paralyzed hours after finding out he’ll be a father
SUMMARY: A Lumberton man, Luke Bird, may never walk again following a severe spine injury after falling nearly 15 feet from a ladder while working as a carpenter. On July 11th, he and his wife Brianna received joyful news of her pregnancy, which quickly turned into panic as they rushed to the hospital. Luke underwent surgery for a T12 spinal injury and is now in rehabilitation, with doctors stating he likely won’t regain the ability to walk. The couple is motivated by their pregnancy as they prepare for significant lifestyle changes and home modifications. A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist them.
