Lumberton grant aims to combat water leaks

The funds will be used to replace over 22,000 feet of outdated four and six-inch pipes, many of which are 50 to 60 years old and prone to cracking and splitting. The updates are expected to reduce water leaks and improve water pressure. Additionally, the grant will be used to install new fire hydrants to improve public safety and maintain low insurance rates. The project, awarded to Red Oak Construction, LLC, is set to be completed in six months.
