Lower rain chances and rising temperatures ahead
SUMMARY: Light showers and a few isolated thunderstorms are currently affecting areas near New Orleans, particularly along the South Shore. An aerial flood advisory is in effect due to estimated rainfall of 1 to 2 inches. However, these rain chances are expected to diminish into the evening and throughout the week. Temperatures are currently in the low 90s, feeling like triple digits due to humidity. An upper-level high-pressure system will likely lead to hotter conditions, with high temperatures forecasted to reach the mid-90s over the upcoming days, while rain chances drop to about 20% by midweek. A tropical disturbance is being monitored with a 40% chance of development.
