SUMMARY: Stephanie Russell, a pediatrician, was charged with murder-for-hire after allegedly to hire a hitman to kill her ex-husband, a plot revealed when she left $3,500 in a dropbox for an undercover FBI agent masquerading as the assassin. Despite signing a plea deal for 10 to 12 years in prison, new evidence shows Russell approached three inmates about the hit just before and after accepting the deal. Her ex-husband urged for the maximum sentence in court, recounting years of harassment, while the judge noted he could not impose a harsher sentence due to the pre-existing agreement.
